UNIVERSITY DAY CELEBRATED

The Day of the University of Criminal Investigation and Police studies was solemnly marked on February 8, 2022. The ceremony held at the University was attended by Minister of Interior Mr. Aleksandar Vulin, Secretary of State of the Ministry of the Interior Mr. Bojan Jocić, Secretary of State of the Ministry of the Interior Mr. Milosav Milicković, Advisor of the Minister and Chief of The Cabinet of the Minister Mr. Mile Radivojević, Assistant Minister and Head of the Human Resources Department. Mr. Vladimir Ilić, Assistant Minister and Head of the Internal Control Sector of the Ministry of the Interior Mr. Dejan Kovačević, Assistant Minister and Head of the Sector for Emergency Situations of the Ministry of the Interior Mr. Luka Čaušić, representative of the Sector for Analytics, Telecommunications and Information Technologies of the Ministry of the Interior, Mr. Slaviša Đukanović, Deputy Head of the Sector for International Cooperation, European Affairs and Planning of the Ministry of the Interior Mrs. Maja Jestrović, Secretary of the Ministry of the Interior Mr. Zoran Lazić, Deputy Head of the Internal Control Sector of the Ministry of the Interior Mr. Slaviša Sovtić, acting Director of the Post of Serbia, Mr. Zoran Đorđević. Among the guests, there were representatives of The Cabinet of the Minister, Department of the police and the Human Resources Sector, members of the Conference of Serbian Universities, as well as representatives of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Embassy of the United States.
The Minister of the Interior, Mr. Aleksandar Vulin, was welcomed by the students of the University, in front of whom the report was submitted by the Commander of the Class, police captain Marko Arandjelović.
Before the beginning of the ceremony in the amphitheatre "dr Archibald Rice", the Minister of the Interior Mr. Aleksandar Vulin, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany Mr. Thomas Schieb and the Rector of the University Professor Zoran Đurđević LLD, officially opened the Amphitheater II, whose renovation has been financed by the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Belgrade.
The ceremony began with the intonation of the national and student anthem and the parade of the best graduate students, after which the welcoming speech was given by the rector of the University. "Our basic mission is to provide support to the Ministry of the Interior in the realization of the Ministry's strategic goals, which is to create a safe community for all citizens of the Republic of Serbia," rector Djurdjević said and emphasized that the exchange of knowledge and experiences is the basis for progress in both science and profession. “I am especially pleased to point out that the University of Criminal Investigation and Police studies has 59 signed agreements with institutions in the Republic of Serbia and 33 agreements with institutions outside the Republic of Serbia. Also, the University of Criminal Investigation and Police studies is a member of the International Association of European Police Colleges. “said rector Đurđević. He briefly informed about the activities and results achieved at the University in the previous period, emphasizing that he is especially proud of the outstanding achievements of students and employees.
Also, Minister Mr. Aleksandar Vulin and the Rector Professor Zoran Đurđević LLD handed over awards to the best graduates of the University in the school year 2020/2021. The awards were handed over to the following students:
UNDERGRADUATE ACADEMIC STUDIES OF CRIMINALISTICS Dušan Sinadinović, for an average grade of 9.33; UNDERGRADUATE ACADEMIC STUDIES OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY Jana Jovanović, for an average grade of 9.42; UNDERGRADUATE ACADEMIC STUDIES OF FORENSIC ENGINEERING Marija Kolarević, for an average grade of 9.81; UNDERGRADUATE VOCATIONAL STUDIES OF CRIMINALISTICS Vanja Miletić, for an average grade of 8.27. Also, students of the University Barbara Strnad and Ivan Ivanović were awarded with letters of gratitude for the results achieved in the implementation of extracurricular activities.
Rector Đurđević also awarded: Charter for contribution to the development and improvement of higher police education to Mr. Bojan Jocic, State Secretary of the Ministry of the Interior; Charter for contribution to the promotion and affirmation of the University to Mr. Bogdan Pušić, Chief of the Criminal Police Directorate; Charter for professional and wholehearted support to teaching activities to Mr. Dejan Lukovic, General of Police; Charter for contribution to the improvement of working conditions at the University to Federal Criminal Police of the Republic of Germany.
The Minister of the Interior, Mr. Aleksandar Vulin, also gave a speech, wishing the graduate students a successful career. "Everything we are doing to make you have better conditions, to make learning easier, better and safer, will make sense only if each of you understands that the state did not create these conditions nor the job that awaits you as a sign of attention, but as a measure of responsibility that you will one day return to your Serbia for everything it has invested in you. We teach you to be better than the best so that you can face the worst. The state of Serbia has invested money, time, attention in you so that one day you can protect it and deserve respect. I want people to speak for you in the years to come – “he is from the University of Criminal Investigation and Police studies” and that that statement already inspires trust and respect. We can give you everything except trust and respect, you will either win it for yourself or you will never get it. It's up to you. There is no uniform and school that will win your respect and trust, and we can only believe that you are worthy of the part that was given to you. You have no right to betray Serbia." said Minister Vulin.
As part of the artistic program, the guests enjoyed music performed by Tijana Rajković and the Police Orchestra, as well as the documentary "Telling about our prominent criminalists".
