Educational Objective: Acquiring knowledge that will enable identification of threats to security of persons, property and business.

Projected Outcome: Becoming qualified for competence-based implementation and improvement of private activities related to safety, self-protection and detective work.

Course Contents/Structure

Theoretical education: General overview of sources and forms of endangering persons and property of companies (concept of endangerment; delimitation of sources and forms of endangerment; external, internal and combined endangerment of safety; endangerment agents), political crime – terrorism, diversion, sabotage, espionage, general crime – theft, grand larceny, robbery, motor vehicle confiscation, evasion, fraud, extortion, kidnapping, blackmail, fire and incendiaries, economic crime – accepting and giving bribe, un conscientious business making, abuse of power, embezzlement, disclosure of business secrets, other sources and forms of endangering a person, property and business, criminal acts (disclosure of business secrets etc.), economic offences and violations. Measures intended to protect the persons, property and business from endangerment; system for securing the production and storage of hazardous materials; fire protection and suppressing of explosions in facilities; specific systems for personal security, security of property and business (provision of security to facilities whose security service is compulsory, personal safety, etc.); forms of cooperation between agents providing security of persons and property and other stakeholders involved in national and civil security.

Practical training: Extending and examining the acquired knowledge by using concrete examples and positive-legal solutions.

Teaching Methods: lecture, modified lecture, case study.
