Educational Objective: Direct linking of theoretical knowledge gained in the University of Criminal Investigation and Police studies with the practical actions of criminal police officers, ie extending the existing theoretical knowledge and acquiring new practical knowledge and skills necessary for performing regular and emergency police duties and tasks. Also, the aim is to facilitate students to learn and master more fully and comprehensively certain curriculum content within the framework of specific professional courses in order to fully prepare them for work in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republic Serbia.

Projected Outcome: Students will: learn the organization, competence, jobs, and conditions and modes of criminal police functioning; gain insight into relevant regulations, operational, work and other records, files, cases, plan, report and other executive acts; they will learn what sorts of official documents are produced in criminal police work (official notes, minutes ...); be familiar with the planning, preparation and realization of concrete activities in the process of criminal act prevention, detection, discovery and proving (operational control, operational processing); students will develop the ability, determination, and affinity for accepting and supporting the specific regime and methods of work of the criminal police, for respecting human rights and the code of professional ethics.

Professional Practice Contents: Organization and jurisdiction of criminal police; receiving and processing a criminal complaint (record on receiving a criminal complaint, official note); criminal complaint against an unknown perpetrator of a criminal offense (procedure, report as a supplement to a criminal complaint); procedure regarding the request for collecting the required information (report on the request for collecting the required information); collecting information (summons to a suspect / citizen, official note on notification received by a citizen, official note on notification received by a person in custody); questioning a suspect (legal grounds, procedure, record of questioning the suspect); taking into custody (legal grounds, procedure, report on taking into custody); holding in detention up to 48 hours in order to collect information or question a suspect (legal grounds, procedure, detention warrant); Crime scene investigation (record of investigation); Searching the premises with / without a warrant (legal grounds, procedure, record of searching the premises, Certificate of entering the premises, report on searching the premises without a warrant); searching a person (legal grounds, procedure, record of searching the person); Temporary confiscation of objects (legal grounds, procedure, receipt of temporarily seized objects); criminal record; operational information (making, recording, procedure); Operational links (informer, whistleblower); criminalistic control; criminalistic processing; criminalistic processing plan; search for persons and objects warrant ; criminalistic-operational records (types, uses); The form of conducting an informative hearing and record making; organization and criminalistic technics jobs at the level of police administration; field work - crime scene investigation in daylight conditions; securing the crime scene; crime scene investigation equipment (dust lifter, vacuum box, special lamps for the inspection of the site, etc. work presentation); Recording method at the crime scene; forensic investigation records; Review of the existing forensic documentation; Event log-book of forensic investigation; work in a photo laboratory; Criminalistic registration of persons - AFIS; dactyloscopic expertise making.

Teaching Methods: The frontal form of work, demonstrations, practice exercises, and skills, the realization of case studies, group work, on-call duty at the School police station.
