Educational Objective: Acquiring knowledge about intelligence activities and intelligence and security institutions in the national security system.

Projected Outcome: An adequate level of knowledge obtained for successful implementation of the tasks in the state security sector.

Course Contents/Structure

Theoretical education: Methodological and theoretical framework for the study of intelligence activities; Intelligence and security institutions in national security system; Intelligence activity; Intelligence and national security strategy; Information-analytical, estimation-prognostic and preventive-security significance of intelligence and counter-intelligence activities; Methodology of intelligence and counter-intelligence activities; Contemporary Intelligence Methods - concept and classification; Agent method, operational connection; Gathering intelligence informations from open source (OSINT); Cooperational Method; Interrogation method; Technical method/TECHINT, SIGINT, ELINT; Normative possibilities for intelligence; Scientific methods and procedures in intelligence research; Intelligence cycle; The role of intelligence in the implementation of foreign policy and protection of national security; Contemporary trends in intelligent research of global challenges and threats to security.

Practical training: Creating an intelligence cycle model and applying methods in simulated situations.

Teaching Methods: lecture, modified lecture, case studies, simulation.
