Educational Objective: Acquiring necessary knowledge from the sphere of human rights, studying human rights in the Constitutional system of Serbia, as well as possible ways of violating human rights by police officers.

Projected Outcome: Training individuals to recognize situations in which human rights are being violated and the appropriate measures to be taken in such situations in accordance with domestic and international standards for human rights protection.

Course Contents/Structure

Theoretical education: The notion of human rights;Evolution of human rights; Internationalisation of human rights; Legal sources of human rights; Classification of human rights; Prohibition of discrimination; Restriction of human rights; Derogation from human rights;Protection of human and minority rights and freedoms.

Human and minority rights and freedom in the Republic of Serbia; Rights of Persons Belonging to National Minorities.

Practical training: Reviewing of subject content and analysis of significant theoretical and practical problems.

Teaching Methods: lecture, modified lecture, presentation.
