Prerequisite/s: None

Educational Objective: Introducing students with the principles of forming findings and opinions in expertise in general, and in particular forensic medical expertise, using the results of analysis in forensic engineering: biomedical engineering, genetic engineering, DNA expertise, chemical and biological weapons, ecotoxicology, biotechnology, as well as their specific application in resolving criminalistic-legal dilemmas.

Projected Outcome: Students will be familiar with the basic principles and methods applied in the field of forensic expertise, and will also acquire the skills to apply these principles for forensic purposes.

Course Contents/Structure

Theoretical education: The teaching will be composed of selected chapters/papers in the field of forensic medical expertise, which articulate the results of various forensic engineering: biomedical engineering, genetic engineering, chemical and biological weapons, ecotoxicology, biotechnology, to be applicable in forensic practice. The requirement for acquiring these skills is to master the basic postulates of the expertise: forms, values, degrees, organization, performance, subject of forensic medical expertise. On the other hand, damage to health and destruction of life, as the most significant effect of the negative impacts of certain segments of the forensic engineering fields, include students familiarizing with the most important principles of tanatology, traumatology, determining the cause of death and health damage, exogenous agents of bodily harm, toxicology, etc.

Teaching Methods: Presentations, interactive classes, seminars.
