Educational Objective: To synthesize cumulative knowledge in the field of informatics and computer science and applications in the selected fields of information technologies in the form of a final thesis which will be related to solving a concrete practical problem, primarily in the field of providing security of property and persons and protection of information and information systems.

Projected Outcome: To acquire the diploma of the second degree - graduate information scientist with completed master’s academic studies.

Professional practice content: The final thesis represents a students’ scientific and research work in a given field of information technologies in which they apply scientific methodology of the corresponding fundamental science (electrical engineering and mathematics). Scientific and research work is related to the problems dealt with by theoretical application of the corresponding mathematical models and practical testing using prepared experimental techniques characteristic for the corresponding fundamental sciences as well as simulation and modelling. Upon completed scientific research students prepare the final thesis consisting of the following chapters: Introduction, Theoretical part, Practical part, Results and discussion, Conclusion. Review of references. Preferably the students should publish a scientific or expert paper related to the problems of information technologies in a corresponding journal.

After completion of the thesis, the student should defend it orally.

Methods: Implementation of information technologies, statistical analysis, the use of corresponding software, creation and selection of experimental computerized methods of protection of information and information systems, presentations.
