Educational Objective: Acquiring knowledge from the general part of the criminal law; understanding of basic ciminal law concepts and adopting of criminal law terminology; Introduction to the criminal law dogmatics and its importance for the development of legal logic in the criminal law matters.

Projected Outcome: Understanding the contents of the basic notion and institutes of criminal law; the understanding of the criminal offence and its basic elements, guilt, stages of the execution of the criminal offence, forms of comlicity and criminal sanctions.

Course Contents/Structure

Theoretical education: The notion of criminal law, criminal code and legislation; International criminal law; Basic principles of criminal law; Development of criminal law; Sources of criminal law; Criminal law interpretation; Criminal law analogy; Criminal law and its relationship with other legal disciplines; Temporal and territorial application of criminal validity of criminal legislation; Concept and basic elements of the criminal offence; Guilt; Grounds for exclusion of guilt; Special cases of responsibility in criminal law; Plotting of offences and attempted criminal offence; Time and place of commission of criminal offence; Joinder of offences; Complicity in criminal offence; Criminal sanctions.

Practical training: Affirming and deepening of the learning materials and analyzing important and significant theoretical and practical problems.

Teaching Methods: lecture, practical training, expert groups, seminar papers, consultations, analysis of court practice, guest visits of prominent experts from practice, colloquiums, oral examination.
