Educational Objective: Gaining knowledge for the correct application of legal powers when undertaking certain measures and actions in the pre-investigative proceeding, investigation, as well as in criminal proceeding.

Projected Outcome: Student’s habilitation to correctly apply regulations in detecting and clearing up crimes and protecting basic human rights and freedoms.

Course Contents/Structure

Theoretical education: Conceptive determination of criminal procedure law and criminal procedure; Basic criminal procedure institutes; Preliminary proceedings(preliminary inquiry and investigation); The course of the regular first instance procedure; Regular and ancillary remedies; Special criminal procedures (shortened criminal proceedings, plea agreement, criminal procedure forjuveniles, procedure for organized crime, war crimes proceedings and cybercrime proceeding) and other special and auxiliary procedures (procedure for the application of security measures, procedure for confiscation of property gain, procedure for deleting convictions, or rehabilitation…).

Practical training: Deepening and checking of gained knowledge through concrete examples and legal solutions.

Special forms of training:

- Visit to the penitentiary institution (introduction to the way in which penal institutions are functioning).
- Attending the trial (getting to know how the criminal court works).

Teaching Methods: Lecture, Modified Lecture, Presentation, Case Study.
