Educational Objective: Acquiring theoretical and practical knowledge about the current structure of the subsystem management of the police and other security services, as well as on their management functions.

Projected Outcome: The ability of students to be involved in the organization of the subsystem management of the police and other security services and perform functions that are implemented within them.

Course Contents/Structure

Theoretical education: Theoretical basis of management; Security institutions – organizations such systems; Management of systems – management of the security organizations; Factors, methods, principles, styles and problems of security management; Functions of the security management process; Security management techniques and roles; Communication in the organization; meetings, presentations, events; Planning, recruitment, selection, training and career development of staff; Motivation, evaluation and rewarding for success of employees; Solving organizational crises and conflicts; Informative and administrative role of management; Informing, reporting, notification, documentation; Regulations, operational procedures, standards; Security management in emergency situations; Special security tasks - operations, intervention and action; Terms of accomplishment of specific security tasks; Police units for performing specific security tasks; Manager operating to reception and after receiving orders to carry out the tasks; Manager operating in the course of and after the completion of the task; Specialized management disciplines.

Practical training: Application of acquired knowledge in the preparation of acts of leadership.

Teaching Methods: Oral presentation, discussion, presentations and demonstrations, and heuristic problem solving methods and practical work (written, oral and graphic expressions) in the frontal, group, team and individual form of teaching/learning.
