Educational Objective: Acquiring the necessary knowledge about explosives and explosive devices.

Projected Outcome: Students` ability to understand methods and procedures related to explosives and explosive devices.

Course Contents/Structure

Theoretical education: The concept of an explosion. The apprehension of explosive substances. Physical and chemical characteristics of explosive substances. Explosives. Fugitive explosives, Initial Explosives. High (Brisant) explosives. Military explosives. Commercial explosives. Methods for detection and identification of explosives. Explosives were left behind at the explosion site. Explosive devices. Mines. Fuses. Procedures. Documentation. Standards.

Practical training: Methods for detection and identification of some explosives and explosive devices in laboratory conditions.

Teaching Methods: Lectures. presentation. demonstration. simulation. practical exercises.
