Educational Objective: Gathering knowledge about general criminalistics ruleson preparation, planning and realization of operative and probative activities in prevention and fighting of crime.

Projected Outcome: Students will be prepared for practical legal and efficient enforcement of contemporary methods in countering crime and specific activities for countering of certain criminal offenses.

Course Contents/Structure

Theoretical education: Notion and tasks of criminalistics; Тhe scientific development of criminalistics; Тhe rules and activities of criminalistics for prevention of crimes; Тhe rules and activities of criminalistics in investigation of crimes and detection of criminals; Criminalistics investigation and checking; International cooperation in criminal matters; Operative activities; Gathering of information; Surveillance; Restrictions of movement in particular areas; Pursuit activities of criminals, other persones and objects; Implementation of specially trained dogs; Following of subjects; Preparation and realisation of polygraph interrogation; Apprehension – arrest tactics; Police questioning of the suspects; Alibi checks; Police and court questioning of witnesses; Confronting of the suspects and witnesses; Police Lineup of suspects; Secret communications of criminals; Specific probative activities; Crime Scene investigation; Reconstruction of events; Search and seizure; Temporary deprivation of objects; Expertise; Criminalistic activities in criminal proceeding; Specific types of crime (property crime, drug- related crime, violent crime, economic crime organized crime).

Practical training: Presentation of criminalistics tactical situations and training in their solving, training of practical acting and documenting of certain operative and probative actions.

Teaching Methods: lecture, modified lecture, presentation, demonstration, simulation, case study.
