Educational Objective: Introduction to modern theoretical and practical aspects in management information systems, information technologies to support management processes and decision-making, basic methods, techniques and tools for the construction of management information systems, management of managerial skills. Understanding the role of information technology in the business environment and the importance of business information systems to strengthen the competitive position of the company.

Projected Outcome: Acquiring knowledge and understanding of the role, the basis, concepts and structure of management information systems, practical knowledge and skills on methods, techniques and software tools for the design of management information systems, practical knowledge and skills in the use of modern application software solutions of artificial intelligence, expert systems, system decision support and knowledge management systems. Knowledge about redesigning organizations using information systems, use of information systems in managing business changes.

Course Contents/Structure
Theoretical education: Management of Information Systems - Business environment and the global economy, management systems and decision-making, information, human resources and information enabling that technology - key resources to improve the management and decision-making, enhanced collaboration between teams, enterprise resource planning, supply chain management. Organizational and management systems to support e-business - business application and integration of business processes (marketing, development, planning, implementation, procurement, sales, finance, etc.). Knowledge management and improve business decision-making in the digital economy. The development and management of information systems - Redesign of organizations using information systems, business value systems and change management, international information systems.
Practical training: Case Studies, Seminar group work, presentation of papers and discussions, computer exercises (CASE tools for process modeling and data for selected management information systems, Web tools, application software).

Teaching Methods: Lectures - case analysis, presentation of papers and discussions. Exercises - individual and group work on computers in solving tasks and functions of the database and application software.
