Educational Objective: To make students capable of using literature in English and developing language skills; to reinforce and revise the knowledge acquired during the first year of study; to improve the level of the four language skills: speech comprehension, speech, reading and writing; to adopt foreign language learning methodology in order to become capable of independent learning. Reinforcing and further improvement of English for specific purposes.

Projected Outcome: Expanding the knowledge of English for specific purposes; communication in situations relevant for the profession; becoming capable for further independent language learning.

Course Contents/Structure

Theoretical education: Verb tenses (revision of those already learnt and learning the new ones); nouns – formation and revision; adjective-adverb relationship; articles – revision; preposition (types); modal verbs – introduction; pronouns: personal, reflexive, possessive, interrogative, relative, demonstrative, indefinite; English sentence (types of clauses, patterns, conditional clauses, imperative); non-finite forms – infinitives; passive voice; sequence of tenses; direct and indirect speech.

Practical training: Working with ESP texts.

Teaching Methods: Lectures, modified lectures, case studies.
